DIGITIZEDHOST® – ANTI-SPAM POLICY
To help promote healthy, legal, responsible Internet commerce, DigitizedHost® endeavors to create an environment where fraud and abuse is discouraged. “Spam” is a slang term that refers to unwanted and unsolicited emails, instant messages, or communications aimed towards large groups of people all at once. Spam is problematic for responsible Internet commerce, and is strictly prohibited in DigitizedHost®’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. The following information details specific guidelines about what is considered acceptable use of bulk email and bulk messaging.
Subscriptions: All mailing list subscribers of DigitizedHost®’s customers must opt-into all email lists they have been subscribed to. This applies to both new and previously held subscriptions. Confirmation of the subscription via email is required. If the customer has purchased a list from an outside party, the organization that sells or shares the distribution list must meet the following guidelines:
- Said organization must have a privacy policy that indicates such sales may occur.
- The privacy policy is prominently linked to the subscriber sign-up page.
- The privacy policy remains essentially unchanged since the subscriber signed up.
- Accurate records of date, time, IP address, and form location are made available.
- Lists from outside parties must meet similar regulations as DigitizedHost®’s guidelines.
- Subscribers from a purchased list must receive similar content as that they originally subscribed for.
- All subscriptions must be re-confirmed with an opt-in email.
Mailing Practices: The following mailing practices must be observed by all of DigitizedHost®’s customers:
- The origin of the message must be clear, and not obfuscated by modifying email headers.
- If undeliverable addresses are bounced back 5 times, they must be removed from further email lists.
- Customers must be responsible for the practices of any third party they solicit the help of.
- Customers must be responsible for outside advertising companies or third party mailing programs.
- All emails must detail the process for opting-out of future mailings, and removal of the subscriber at their request must be done with haste.
Spamware: Any content discussing, describing, instructing on, or selling spamming materials is prohibited.
Other: Any messages that are predominantly promotional in nature must not be posted on bulletin boards, discussion forums, or guest books.
Disablement: If in violation of these policies, DigitizedHost® reserves the right to disable a customer’s account.
